About Us
The Matthew Baldwin Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about lawn mower safety. My name is Roy Baldwin and I founded this non-profit organization in 2008 after my four year old son, Matthew, was involved in a lawn mower accident and lost his right leg above the knee. After the accident there was so much confusion on what to do and who would help. My hope is that through the Matthew Baldwin Foundation I can help others going through similar situations find information and support. The goal of the foundation is to educate people about lawn mower safety, raise awareness of child amputees and assist amputee people with support groups and information regarding products and resources that are available for them.

Since Matthew's accident, I have realized that having a strong network of people to talk to about what Matthew is going through has helped me tremendously in turning this tragedy into a positive lifestyle change.
As a parent of a child that has lost a limb, I have found that talking with parents in similar situations has helped me understand my feelings are normal and to better understand what to expect during Matthew's recovery. Please feel free complete the contact form or send me an email if you have any questions or just want to talk about your situation. Thanks for stopping by. Roy Baldwin |
